The Educational Scholarship award function 2017-2018 for the multiple marginalized Children was conducted on 1st July 2017 at ICSA, Jivana Jyothi,Egmore, Chennai. The Chief Guest Ms.Ishara Davey, Consul and Chairperson of the Direct Aid Program Committee, Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program inaugurated the Educational Scholarship 2017- 2018 and award supporting for 100 children after the inauguration she said the Consulate’s Direct Aid program strives to build successful and sustainable partnerships between India and Australia. We are pleased that we were able to sponsor 7 lakh rupees for scholarships and mentoring of children. Dr.M.Baskaran, President, ICWO welcomed the gathering and speaking on the occasion, said that education is very important for any child. Finally, he wished the children all the best for their future. Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO in the Introduction and purpose of the Scholarship Program he quoted that the children who received the support will continue their education and avoids school drop outs. “I feel thankful by the kind of support rendered by ICWO / Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program provided to us” said Ms. S.Keerthana, 5th STD. Ms.Durga, 6th STD stated that she could not afford to get my school bag and Educational accessories. ICWO has come out with the educational support program. Now she feels happy to school like any other child. “I am extremely happy to see educational kit filled with lot of resource and school materials! I Thank you all, added Ms. Archana, 6th STD.Ms. Devika Thilak, Deputy Director, ICWO rendered Vote of thanks. The scholarship awards was organized by Indian Community Welfare Organization and sponsored by Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program
