A Colourful celebration

The staff and the students of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women,Anna Nagar actively participated in the Pongal Day celebrations on 14th January 2016. Pongal was prepared in the college grounds by the staff with the help of the non-teaching staff of the college. Mr. K.B.Arun and Mr. K.B.Krishnanand, the Directors, Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, Mr. Sadasivam, Senior Principal, Shri Krishnaswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar and Dr. R. Revathi, Principal, Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, presided over the function.  Ms. K.Sharmila (I B.Com A&F), delivered a speech on the importance of Pongal Day celebration. Pongal was distributed to the dignitaries and the staff. The highlight of this day was the Rangoli Competition by the various departments. The students showed keen interest in participating in the competition. This enthusiasm was seen in their display of eye-catching rangolies on the college ground. Their colourful designs were judged by Ms. Sangeetha (In-charge, Math Department), Dr. Girija (In-charge, Tamil Department), and Ms. Kavitha (In-charge, B.Com A& F Department). The first prize was bagged by the BCA Department, the second prize by the B.Com C.S Department and the third prize by the B.Sc Computer Science Department.  The celebration came to an end with the announcement of the Rangoli results.Principal, Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, presided over the function.  Ms. K.Sharmila (I B.Com A&F), delivered a speech on the importance of Pongal Day celebration.
