Chennai based veteran artists holds exhibition to support flood victims

A painting exhibition of veteran artist Dr.B.R.Annapillai, is on at “La Galerie D’Expression,” at Hotel Ambassador Pallava, Egmore till 31st January 2016.Dr.B.R.Annapillai stated that its a  fundraising painting exhibition and the proceeds will go towards Chennai flood relief. About 36 paintings are displayed. Dr.B.R.Annapillai, Founder & President, Tamil Nadu Arts & Crafts Improvement Association has nearly 38 years of service in Academic special grade as art master in the Govt.Schools in Kancheepuram. He has established “Pallava Artists Village,” near Tambaram in 1991. Has served as a General Council member at National Lalit Kala Akademy in New Delhi and imparts free coaching to youth in drawings and paintings for the past 25 years. The Tamil Nadu Arts & Crafts Improvements Association (TACIA) was established to promote and encourage young, enthusiastic and professional Artists to facilitate development of art & culture among general public. It is a recongnized body of the National Lalit Kala Akademi and Tamil Nadu Ovia Nunkalai Kuzhu. The association  conducts annual Exhibitions, Artists Camps, Art Demonstrations, Competitions, Seminars. Dr.B.R.Annapillai,  was honoured with many awards, namely Rotary Club of Kanchi in 1991, Tamil Nadu Govt. Nallasiriyar Award in 1992, Lions Club of Chennai in 1993, Special Honour by Chitrakala Academy, Coimbatore in 1994, Department of Art & Culture, Kanchi in 1998, All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, New Delhi in 2003, Sri Dharshini, in 2012.
