Sri Palam Silk Sarees has unveiled their latest
line up of concept sarees for this New Year on 8th January 2016 in
Chennai. In their event, First Look 2016, held at a city hotel, Palam presented
a series of innovative collections, one for every month of the year. The 11
collections introduced, (September was omitted since the brand will host its
annual fashion show, Silkline, in this month) showcased wondrous themed weaves
to mark the new year, in addition to their Muhurtham Pattu Collection for
new-age brides.Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Jeyasree Ravi, owner of Palam
Silks said,”Palam has always been a pioneer for innovative concepts in sarees
and it is with great pleasure that we launch our varied collections for this
year. The
event commenced with the unveiling of Floral Blooms Collection, synonymous
of spring.
The sarees are crafted in verdant colours to remind one of the new
harvest seasons in January!Next in line was Ruby Red Romance, a
collection specially designed for the romantic month of February. The sarees
are inspired by Valentine’s Day, an occasion for everyone to express love in a
colour that unites them, ruby red.The festival of colours in March inspired
Palam’s next collection, Holi. This collection is a combination of bold
and bright colours never seen before in silk.Following Holi was Mango Tango!,
to pay tribute to our mango season in April. The collection is adorned with
traditional mango butta, but with a 2016 twist.The Suns of Summer is a
collection that welcomes the season of summer in May.
The magic of the sun’s
golden glow is brought to life in Palam’s scintillating silk sarees.Next in
line was Back to School, synonymous of the youth who are ready to get
back to their classes in June. A recent trend, sarees with geometric shapes
and checks have caught on like wildfire amongst the youth. Monsoon
Arrives
recreates the magic of Silverline Collection to celebrate the arrival of the
rainy season in July. Palam has redesigned the magnificence of the first silver
drops of rain on parched earth by replacing traditional gold zari of the sarees
with silver zari, lending the garment an exclusive, radiant shimmer.Salaam India Collection was
launched for the month of August to celebrate the 69th year of
Independent India.
The sarees of this collection are inspired by the hues of
the Indian flag creating a sense of patriotism for our country. Diwali
Dhamaka! pays homage to India's largest saree wearing occasion, Diwali! The
festival of lights in October traditionally marks the unveiling of every saree
retailer's best collections. Palam put together our best for the 2016 Diwali
season.Next in
line was Of Falling Flora Collection as November marks
the peak of Fall, which sees nature change gears in terms of the flora-scape.
The colours and designs on the sarees remind one of the shedding season and the
occasional drops of rain.Ho Ho Ho Collection welcomes the season of joy
and cheer in December! This collection pays homage to Christmas as there are
many festive elements adorning the six yard silk wonders.
Following the
Christmas Collection and rounding off the evening was Palam’s Muhurtham
Pattu Collection 2016. This collection showcased the latest trends in
bridal wear that are suitable for the new-age brides of today. The sarees are
lightweight, colourful and elegant, yet encapsulates the essence of Indian
traditions.Celebrate this 2016 with a new look every month of the year, making
