The Anglo-Indian Suburban Front held its 13th annual
get-together on 14th February 2016 at St.Antony's Church hall, Avadi, Chennai. The
guest of honour for the function was Prof.Richard Hay, Hon’ble Member of
Parliament, L.S (Nom).The special guests for the function were
Mr.D.S.Satishbabu, Chairman, RR Group, Avadi, Mr.Freddie Hall, Ex-President, All
India Anglo-Indian Association (Vepery Branch) and Richard O'Connor.
Mr.Augustine Roy Rozario, Founder-President of Anglo-Indian Suburban Front
welcomed the gathering and highlighted the various activities and
accomplishments of the association with regards towards the upliftment of the
Anglo-Indian community.
Prof.Richard Hay, in his address stated that he feels
proud of the younger generation since they are more focused in life. He also
said that education is the key to success. During the function Mrs.Pamela
Hayward was felicitated for her contribution to hockey. A environmentally
friendly speech by Mrs.Romaine Francesco, Project Co-ordinator of
Samarpan Foundation, Chennai. Financial assistance to the needy were also
distributed on the occasion. Mr.Augustine Roy Rozario, Founder-President of
Anglo-Indian Suburban Front made an appeal to the dignitaries on the dais to
provide land in Ambattur-Avadi limits in order to set up a vocational skilled
training centre. He also highlighted reservation of seats in professional
courses for Anglo-Indian students and job reservation for Anglo-Indians in
Central Government services such as Railways. Mr Roy also suggested setting up
a heritage museum with steam engines at the Royapuram Railway station
