The YRC Unit- I of Shri Krishnaswamy College for
Women, Anna Nagar had organized a voting rights awareness cum on-line
registration camp on 6th January 2016 at the college auditorium. The Chief
Guest was Mr. Parandhaman, Assistant Commissioner and Electoral Registration
Officer, Zonal Division 8. He was accompanied by Mr. Hussain, Assistant
Executive Officer, Zonal Division 8, Mr. Jaganadhan and Mr. Ranganathan,
Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Zonal Division 8.The Director of the
college, Mr. K.B. Arun felicitated the Chief Guest, Mr. Parandhaman, Assistant
Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer, Zonal Division 8, Mr.
Jaganadhan and Mr. Ranganathan, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers,
Zonal Division 8. Mr. Hussain, Assistant Executive Officer Zonal Division 8 was
felicitated by the Principal of the College, Dr.R.Revathi. Mr. Hussain in his address urged the
youngsters of the college who are now in their teens to cast their valuable
vote as it is their responsibility towards the state. He also asked them to
motivate others in their age group to register online, so that they get their
voter’s card and be eligible voters. He insisted that they should not miss this
opportunity to vote in the coming
election as only a good and stable government can make a better society and thereby a
progressive nation. The Chief Guest, Mr.
Parandhaman asked the students to take a pledge that they would exercise their
vote as responsible citizens of the country.The
YRC members of the college gave a “Thank
you Clap” and this was followed by the vote of thanks by Ms. Reethika (I B.A,
English).
