II - India’s first national travel quiz for schools conducted its City Finals
today at Chennai, declaring Master Eshwar Nevedh & Master Venkat Sai Adarsh
Kone from from St. Patrick MHSS, Puducherry as the winners, confirming an entry
to the South Zonal Finals. Present at the event were heads of Chennai’s leading
educational institutions, parents, students, Ms. Bridget Goh, Area Director,
India and Sri Lanka-Singapore Tourism Board & Mr. Noor Azman, Director
Tourism Malaysia- South India who were kept enthralled by the quizmaster, Mr.
Giri Pickbrain. Given outstanding pan India
participation for Season - I and the honour of the prestigious PATA Gold Awards
2015 (Education & Training), Thomas Cook Travel Quest – is back with a
larger format this year. Mr. Giri Pickbrain with the focus being History &
Geography. Having benefitted from strong student-educator-parent engagement
last year, Switzerland Tourism and Singapore Tourism Board continue their
partnership for Travel Quest Season II. Following an intense outreach programme
via written tests at a school level, Thomas Cook covered over 35000 students
from 110 educational institutions across Chennai. At the Thomas Cook Travel
Quest quiz venue over 1100 students from over 100 schools participated in the
qualifier round where six teams were selected to compete for the Chennai City
Finals.The venue ASI Convention Centre Auditorium, Swami Sivananda Salai,
Triplicane, Chennai was packed with an excited audience of over 1200 students, teachers and parents.The winning
students Master Eshwar Nevedh & Master Venkat Sai Adarsh Kone from from St.
Patrick MHSS, Puducherry of Chennai City Finals will be hosted by Malaysia
Tourism Board for an enriching experiential study tour to Malaysia.Mr. Madhavan
