A felicitation function for Prof.Dr.K.N.George took place on 12th March 2016 at ICSA Centre, Jivana Jothi, Egmore, Chennai. The event was organized by Indian Community Welfare Organisation. Dr.M.Baskaran, President of ICWO welcomed the gathering. Three awards were presented to Prof. Dr.K.N.George. First was the Seva Ratna award by Honorable Justice K.Gnanaprakasam, Former Judge, High Court of Madras awarded.The second,Sevai Semmal award was given by Dr.A.Kalanidhi, Former Vice Chancellor, Anna University and Vice Chairman, Commonwealth Science & Technology Academy for Research. The third Sevai Peroli award was presented by Thiru.S.Gomathinayagam Avl, Addl. Advocate General of Tamilnadu, High Court of Madras.The key speakers were Ms.Uma Venkat, Member, Indian Council of Social Welfare, Mr.A.Mohandoss, Member, Indian Council of Social Welfare, Dr.Lalitha Nataraj, Member, Indian Council of Social Welfare, Dr.Price Solomon, Assistant Professor, MCC College, Mr.A.Bakthavatchalam, Executive Director, Association for Rural Mass India, Dr.Reema Saraswathy, Member, Indian Council of Social Welfare, Dr.Raja Samuel, Principal, Madras School of Social Work, Mr.Benjamin Franklin, Founder Director, MCCSS, Mr.P.Muniappanm, Member, Indian Council of Social Welfare & Ms.Uma Maheswari. Speaking on the occasion Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO said the time is always right to do what is right. Prof. DR. Karachepone Ninan George, a pioneer in Social Work, to have an experience of 46 years in educating , researching and practicing social work. From being a member of the Child Fund India, New Delhi to the Chairman of the Institute of Sustainable Development, Chennai.He has turned almost every stone into gold and proved that hard work and opportunities brings success. Last but not the least,Prof.Dr.K.N.George thanked A.J.Hariharan and the ICWO team for organizing this function.
