WORLD AIDS DAY 2020 focuses on “Global solidarity, shared responsibility”

 Indian Community Welfare Organization –I.C.W.O. observed World AIDS Day 2020 on 3rd December 2020.  An E-Poster and Print Poster was released by Dr.P.Kuganantham, HOD, Social Medicine and Infectious Diseases -  SIMS Hospital, Former City Health Officer, Greater Chennai Corporation, COVID-19. Expert Committee of Tamil Nadu Government during the function. The theme for this year is “Global solidarity, shared responsibility”


Speaking on the occasion Dr.P.Kuganantham said AIDS is not a killer disease; AIDS is a chronic aliment like diabetes and hypertension.  We need to keep up the same spirit of reducing stigma and discrimination against HIV/AIDS. The social, financial and medical support for the affected needs to be consolidated from all the agencies willing to support the cause. The NGOs who are working for the past more than 3 decades have to be encouraged and supported for future care and support of HIV/AIDS.

 Speaking on the occasion Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary of ICWO said this year World AIDS Day 2020 theme is ““Global solidarity, shared responsibility”” it is possible to bring the community with the support of different stake holders to address stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS in India. Focusing on the same we have released a E-Poster and Print Poster.

The E-poster will be widely shared with different social media platform which includes live streaming in Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Instagram and more search social media. It is aim to reach 1,00,000 individuals in 3 days to create an impact among young people to take oath that they do not discriminate people living with HIV/AIDS in India.
