The Sail
Qatar event run as a precursor to the IODA Asian Championships, saw Sailors
from 14 countries including Argentina, UAE, Australia, Belgium, British,
Serbia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Italy, New Zealand, UK, Singapore, Spain and hosts
Qatar. Sailing conditions were challenging with hot and humid weather and wind
oscillating between 5 and 15 knots in choppy seas. A total of 9 races were
sailed with 1 discard.Tamil Nadu Sailing Association sailor R.Neelanand won
Bronze in the under 12 age group in the Optimist class. Team India also won
bronze in the team racing event.
