The Department of Social Work, Patrician College of Arts and
Science, Adyar recently organized a Institution Industry Interface on 13th
February at the college campus. The participants were from Accel Frontline,
Rising Star Outreach of India, NIEPMD, Chrysalis, IRDRP-TRUST, Fortis
Malar-Adyar, Butterfly, Arunodhaya Centre for street & working with
children, PAADHAI, M.V.Diabetes Centre, HAND-IN-HAND, Ashok Nagar, YWCA
Sahodari, Kalaiselvi Karunlaya, Bajaj Alliance General Insurance, ICON Clinical
Research, PCVC and Candles. Effective interaction and communication between an
academic Institution and Industry/NGO is essential for the mutual benefit of
all stakeholders and is the need of the hour. Field work inculcates a healthy
environment for the students and they gain vast industrial exposure. The
department has been networking with different industries, consultants, and NGOs
for their field work experience and placements. The objective of the Interface
was to Bridge the gap between the academia and field work agencies. Interface
is an annual programme that helps in strengthening the ties with industries and
strengthens the field work component through the sharing of field work
experience and possible areas of collaboration.
