Chennai Boy Wins National Award for Google

Chennai, Feb 5, 2016: Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan, Class V student in BVM Global at Perungudi,  was declared recently the National Winner of the Google India Code to Learn Contest 2015. Shrikrishna, his parents, teachers and the school management are ecstatic with this stupendous achievement, which has inspired the boy to seek greater achievements in times to come.  The aim of Google’s Code to Learn contest is to “Building a stronger foundation for Computer Science in India”. The Google India “Code to Learn Contest” is organized since 2014 for students of Classes 5 to 10 in which children from across the country participate and the school motivates the students to participate in this pan India hi-tech competition. Students submit a project which may be an application for a social cause, a game or an educational tool. The participants are expected to prepare the project on their own from its basic level including coding and writing the programmes. BVM Global at Perungudi, Chennai a CBSE affiliated school promotes and lays stress on Coding, Robotics and S.T.E.M curriculum classes which provides a platform to the next generation computer wizards. “Robotics in education encourages enormous creativity in children and teaches them problem solving, building and executing programs and application of scientific/mathematical concepts. Srikrishna’s achievement reflects BVM Globals very apt and forward thinking decision of introducing of Robotics as a compulsory part of school curriculum at a young age.” said Mrs Sangeetha, yet another parent of BVM Global at Perungudi. At BVM Global, besides ensuring academic proficiency, the school also works towards proper physical, psychological, social and cultural growth of the students. Students imbibe not only the knowledge reflected in their studies, but also a self confidence that is reflected throughout their lives. All this is enabled by state of the art technology and experienced team of teachers.
