The students of Loyola College came in for a pleasant surprise in the New Year as India’s legendary tennis star Leander Paes took time out from his busy schedule of Aircel Chennai Open to talk about the importance of ‘Doing a Little Extra’ in life and career. Leander, who is seeded third in Aircel Chennai Open with his Brazilian partner Andre Sa, spent some time in talking about his life and took questions from the students on the different aspects of his illustrious career that spanned for nearly three decade during which he won an Olympic Bronze medal, 55 ATP Titles and multiple Grand Slams.“It was a wonderful opportunity for me to interact with the students and talk to them about the importance of ‘Doing a Little Extra’ to succeed in your life. I have been playing since 1987, that is some 29 years, and it wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t done anything extra each and every day in my career. For professional tennis players, it is an everyday battle against injuries during a busy and cramped schedule. So it is religious for us do ‘Extra’ every day to win this battle,” said the 43-year-old Leander, a six-time winner at the Aircel Chennai Open. Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, thanked Leander for taking his time out and sharing his experience of ‘Doing a Little Extra’ in life.“At Aircel, we value the philosophy of ‘Doing a Little Extra’ and it is reflected in our products and services,” said Anupam.
