COVID-19 Zonal Level IEC Campaign Inaugurated

Indian Community Welfare Organisation (ICWO) & Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) inaugurated a COVID-19 Zonal Level IEC Campaign to create Corona Awareness through Chennai Gana Songs on 17th July 2020 at Kalamegam Road (Entrance), Mogappair West, Chennai.

The Chief Guest Thiru.G.Tamilselvan, M.E, Zonal Officer, Zone -7, Greater Chennai Corporation inaugurated by flagging off the COVID-19 Zonal Level IEC Campaign by releasing a poster and handed over coat to the ICWO-COVID-19 team. Thiru.K.Sundaresan, B.E., Executive Engineer, Zone-7, Greater Chennai Corporation received the first copy of the poster Thiru.C.Subramanian, Deputy Superintend of Police; Special Officer for COVID 19 received the second copy of the poster.

Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Founder Secretary - ICWO, stated that within 2 days COVID-19 Awareness Campaign outreach staff will distribute 3000 masks, 2000 packs of Kadasura Kudineer, 1000 Stickers and 2000 Leaflets to the residents of Zone-7, Division: 91 & 92

The COVID-19 Awareness Campaign will be implemented for 2 days on 17th (Friday) & 18th (Saturday) July 2020. Each day there would be 6 programmes and the campaign is expected to reach 500 households that is 2000 individuals. Overall the campaign through Chennai Gana Songs is aimed to create Corona Awareness to around 24,000 residents. Super Hero’s Batman & Superman dressed artist will reach door to door and distribute handouts and paste COVID-19 awareness stickers. They will educate children how to keep their hands clean through hand wash demonstration.
