A successful joint rescue effort at Koyambedu Market

Team comprises of Labour Department DCPU, Childline SJPU, ICWO,SCS and BBA  ICWO/HSF project team consists of A.J.Hariharan, Praveena Solomon, Ms.Jaya Social Worker and student volunteers from DG Vaishnav college, SDNB College Madhurai American College.

As per tip off the information, the Chennai District Task Force (DTF) led by ACL-1 (Enf.) conducted the joint inspection at Koyambedu Fruit Market and rescued 8 children on 14.2.23

The age of the boys were as low as 10 years and up to 18, hails from Bihar (6) and TN (2). Preliminary investigation revealed that they made to work for more than 12 hours a day and paid less than the minimum wage. The team secured all the 8 boys and produced before CWC and accommodated at Govt Boys' Home. Labour department initiated legal action.
