For 30 years, Oasis India builds safe communities for women and children

Oasis India has worked towards building communities which are safer for women and children for the past 30 years. Our mission is to work in an inclusive, integrated, empowering and comprehensive way so that all people experience wholeness and fullness of life. There are six core areas we focus on, prevention, education, sports, rehab, skilling and community building.

In Chennai, Oasis India began its work in the year 2004 and our Community Empowerment Programs in Chennai reach beneficiaries of Kalyanapuram and Kannagi Nagar with majority of the families trapped under the cycle of poverty and children especially the girls do not have a hope of a better future. These vulnerable category of children, women and adults are engaged into various programs like After School Program, Sports, Livelihood / Skill Development, Awareness programs.

On October 19th, 2024, Oasis India partners with The Movement India to combat human trafficking. This global event, organized by A21, a renowned international non-profit, aims to raise awareness and inspire collective action against modern-day slavery.  In its sixth year, the Walk for Freedom took place in over 100 locations across India, including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Kochi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Shillong, and Delhi. The WFF in Chennai was organised in Kalyanapuram, Vyasarpadi with Mr. Hari Haran, ICWO, Mr. Kirubakaran - Sub Inspector Vyasarpadi Police station, Mr. Lawarance - Founder of Real Trust honoured the event as Chief Guests in which around 100 people participated in the silent walk around the area creating awareness.
