EFICOR Provides Emergency Relief to Tamil Nadu Flood Victims

Evangelical Fellowship of India Commission On Relief (EFICOR), a Delhi based national Christian philanthropic organization involved in Relief and Development since 1967, has been responding to the emergency situation in flood affected Cuddalore and Chennai districts.  EFICOR has been working in the state since the disaster stuck from 14.11.15.  They have been providing need based relief materials such as dry ration (25kg rice, 2kg pulses, 2lit cooking oil, 1kg salt, 300 gm Spices, 400 gm Health Mix and other supplements for children) and non food items such as set of clothes for the families, cooking vessels, stove, bed sheets and mats worth of Rs.3000 per families each. The organization has supported to 785 families in Kurinjipady and Chidambaram Talukas in Cuddalore and 565 families in Chennai cities in-order to alleviate the sufferings of people affected by the recent Tamil Nadu floods.
During the emergency relief distribution in Chennai Mr. Harshan KY, Manager, Emergency Response and DRR, EFICOR and Mr. Dhanraj (Director, TCDS) handed over relief materials to the affected families of in Vasuki Nagar and Periyakavanam in the presence of Mr. Fredy M.Roy (Relief Coordinator, EFICOR) and Mr. Daniel (OASIS) and Village elders of respective communities. The beneficiaries were whole heartedly appreciated the quality and quantity of relief materials and the timely assistance provided by EFICOR. Mr.K.Y.Harshan (Manager ER & DRR, EFICOR) informed that altogether 1350 worst hit families in Chennai and Cuddalore are supported with Emergency relief of Food materials sufficient for a month and non-food items to bring back normal situation.
