Inauguration of free wifi facility at Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium

Indian Community Welfare Organisation -ICWO is a non profit, non Governmental, social work organisation working for various developmental initiatives in specific focus to women and children for the past 21 years in Chennai. ICWO successfully administrating Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium, Otteri Crematorium, Balakrishnapuram Crematorium, Kannan Colony Crematorium, Kasimedu Crematorium and Thiruvotriyur Crematorium to upgrade the services for the public who visit the crematorium and to protect the sacredness of the place.The Chief guest, Rtn. Manjula V. Krishnan, Chairman, Rotary Foundation had inaugurated the free wifi facility at Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium on 15th April 2017 at Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium, New Avadi Road, Anna Nagar, Chennai. Rtn.S.Rajasekar, President, Rotary Club of Meenambakkam, Rtn.P.Ravindran, Secretary, Rotary Club of Meenambakkam, Rtn.P.Mohanan, Director - Community Service Development, Rotary Club of Meenambakkam and Rtn. Jayaraman were present on the occasion.Ms.Praveena Solomon, Care Taker, Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium welcomed the gathering. The purpose of the wifi facility by Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO and Vote of thanks by Mr.N.Parthasarathy, Care Taker, Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium.
Speaking on the occasion Rtn. Manjula V. Krishnan, Chairman – Rotary Foundation said it is heartening to note that modern technology is finding its place at the last place of rest. Speaking on the occasion Rtn.S.Rajasekar, President, Rotary Club of Meenambakkam said that modern technology should be made use of even at the most neglected places like crematoriums to help the public at large. Speaking on the occasion A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO said on an average 300 to 400 people visit the crematorium every day. As part of the upgrading the services, we have provided free wifi facilities to the visitors, which will help them to communicate to their friends and relatives regarding the funeral services at the crematorium. This is the first crematorium in Tamil Nadu to have the free wi fi facility. A.J.Hariharan thanked the officials from Greater Chennai Corporation for their support to make the developments possible at Greater Chennai Corporation Velankadu Crematorium.
