India student S. Monish from K. K. Nagar Chennai was declared the Champion in
Global Art’s International Competition in Group D (category for 13 years and
above) held at Phnom Penh, Cambodia recently. 6 other children were adjudged
runners-up in their respective categories while 1 student received a
consolation prize. More than 300 children (in age group 5-18 years) from 12
nations including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, China,
Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar, Australia, Cambodia and India participated. The
theme of the competition was ‘LOVE’ and the participating children pitted their
creative skills against one another, trying to find newer and incredible
expressions on this theme. A felicitation ceremony was organized on 21st
December 2015 in Chennai to celebrate the achievements of students from India,
at which yesteryear cine actor and litterateur Sivakumar was the Chief Guest.Lauding
the achievements of the young Indians, Mr Dinesh Victor, MD, SIP Academy India
and Global Art India stated that the Indian children have been performing
exceptionally well in the recent years. At Global Art, children are encouraged
to share their ideas especially those which are not conventional. As a direct
result, they are able to come up with innovative solutions for day-to-day
challenges they face which in turn helps them face the rigours of a competitive
world.
